The course is designed to help you assess the risk associated with your work, and to determine the necessary preventative measures to be taken to avoid injury and/or damage to property. Working in an industrialized environment increases your exposure to a wide range of different risks. It is therefore an important part of your work to take preventative actions to control these risks – to provide a safe working environment for yourself and the people working around you.

Course Objectives

The objective of this training course is to equip the student with the theory and practical necessary in order to competently conduct hazard identification, risk assessment and control exercise. On completion of this course the student will be able to:

  • Identify SHE hazards and risks
  • Evaluate the Probability and Severity of hazards and risks
  • Understand the different categories of risk
  • How to complete a risk profiling matrix
  • Understand the legislative requirements related to HIRA
  • Make meaning recommendations to improve the overall safety in the workplace.
